Our Company
The founders of Riksch BioFuels L.L.C. have a deep agricultural background and a history of producing biodiesel. Recognizing the need for a biodiesel production facility in southeastern Iowa, colleagues Neil Rich and Don Miksch formed Riksch BioFuels on April 4, 2005.
Each employee, investor, and manager of Riksch BioFuels is happy to bring efficiently produced, economical and environmentally-friendly biodiesel to the region. Utilizing a process that creates virtually zero waste and drawing on half the water used by similar producers, Riksch BioFuels decreases the environmental footprints of its facility and that of its customers.
The technology used by Riksch BioFuels to produce biodiesel does not have any harmful air emissions, nor does it require a water wash, as is common in other biodiesel facilities. RB also supplies all personnel with protective equipment and proper training on the correct use of the equipment.
Our Personnel
President / CEO, Neil Benjamin Rich
Prior to founding Riksch BioFuels L.L.C., Neil was vice president of Rich Pumping L.L.C., a custom fertilizer application business servicing southeast Iowa. As vice president, Neil was responsible for the financial and day-to-day operation of the business. He began researching biodiesel in late 2003, and had successfully created a small-scale biodiesel reactor by March 2004. One year and three thousand gallons of biodiesel later, Neil recognized the need for a larger operation. Neil currently occupies a seat on the newly formed Iowa Biodiesel Board and is an active member in the National Biodiesel Board.
Vice President / CFO, Donald Nathaniel Miksch, MBA
Don was entrenched in agriculture at a young age, spending his youth on his grandparent’s farm, which he would later manage. A 2001 graduate of St. Ambrose University, Don earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA through the St. Ambrose University School of Business and the H.L. McLaughlin Masters of Business Administration Program in 2002. After spending three years with the State of Iowa Auditor’s office as an assistant and staff auditor, he began researching the feasibility of renewable energies such as wind energy and biodiesel. Don is also a member of the National Biodiesel Board.
